Overview


Calcite is a design system and developer platform used by product teams and external partners to craft engaging and consistent user experiences across and between mapping applications. The Calcite design system team is looking for a drincipal program nanager to manage Calcite releases, roadmap, and initiatives while building relationships with 50+ product teams  to help them adopt Calcite and identify shared opportunities for new Calcite initiatives.

Responsibilities


  • Partner closely with Calcite design system lead and engineering and product management leadership to manage Calcite roadmap, releases, and key initiatives
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment between Design, Engineering, Accessibility, and Research on key Calcite initiatives, while defining and managing the schedule for team members’ task completion based on company release frequency
  • Drive initiative for building new Calcite components, ensuring alignment on established engagement process while defining and managing requirements for each function
  • Partner with Calcite lead and other team members to help define prioritization criteria for new Calcite components and component enhancement requests
  • Improve organization of Calcite roadmap, initiatives, and individual team members’ tasks leveraging and managing innovative software
  • Drive continuous improvement of Calcite communication methodologies, documentation, request processes, Figma environment process and task management, incorporation of accessibility guidelines to make it easier for Calcite user to adopt design system and get the support they need
  • Work closely with a design system lead and a user researcher to drive user research planning and activities, while validating usability of new components in Figma and code
  • Evangelize at all levels to drive user adoption of web UI components, fostering Design and Engineering education of Calcite components to ArcGIS product teams, conveying Calcite innovative practices, and providing guidelines to ensure product teams are set for success
  • Facilitate and manage team meetings for scrum, planning, reviews, and regular check-in

Requirements


  • 8+ years of experience of product/project/program management experience
  • Experience leading multiple complex initiatives at the same time, while ensuring effective performance of team members from cross disciplines
  • 1+ years of proven record of leading and growing enterprise-level design systems
  • Deep understanding of fundamentals of product design lifecycle and knowledge of designers’ day to day
  • Experience with Github, Devtopia, and Zenhub or ability to master knowledge of those tools within weeks
  • Familiarity with Figma & Storybook
  • Understanding accessibility standards
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (Stencil, JavaScript, Angular, Ember, React, HTML, CSS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
