Privacy Engineer - Cyber Risk Analyst

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Privacy engineer to join our web team to expand domestic and international privacy by design. In this role, you will partner with internal web, advertising technology, and marketing technology teams across the globe to ensure alignment with the organization's privacy framework while meeting the requirements of the business.

You will use your privacy expertise and software/SaaS knowledge to make informed recommendations that will guide the development of new privacy features, manage our preference center, and prevent privacy issues within our various web platforms. In addition, you'll be working to implement privacy features, tools, and scalable solutions to ensure that all of our customers' and employees' data is protected, and that our work complies with relevant privacy laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Translate privacy rules and policies into robust, scalable, reusable solutions that protect user privacy while enabling safe, transparent use of data
• Leverage your knowledge to build solutions that protect user privacy and mitigate re-identification risk to enable compliant and safe use of user data for analytics, machine learning, and product development
• Support marketing teams and legal with education, implementation, and validation across our websites
• Partner with marketing technology team to assist and inform the continuous improvement of Esri's cookie-less data strategy
• Support and develop privacy-related due diligence assessments and customer privacy queries for information governance, data protection, and development of controls to measure risk
• Maintain familiarity with global and domestic privacy law and associated frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, NIST,
• ISO, HIPPA, FERPA, COPPA, etc.) to align digital platforms with privacy standards
• Support technical and non-technical team projects working alongside our organization's data privacy leads, compliance, security, and legal teams
• Discover and document how data is collected, processed, and stored across our products and infrastructure to ensure our data collection and usage practices are transparent, protect user privacy, and mitigate risk
• Prepare reports and insights for review and effectively communicate with business and technical teams

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working within a data privacy program, privacy policy, security compliance, or program management, ideally within engineering for SaaS or PaaS
• Strong working knowledge of AdTech and MarTech systems such as Marketing Automation systems, eCommerce, and analytics platforms (Adobe Analytics, Salesforce, Pardot, OneTrust, etc.)
• Foundational understanding of broad global concepts of privacy and data protection law and practice including jurisdictional laws, regulations, and enforcement models; essential privacy concepts and principals; and legal requirements for handling and transferring data.
• Strong interest in understanding and solving data challenges with expertise in information governance, data protection, and privacy policy
• Ability to translate business needs into solutions, as well as knowledge of enterprise systems, networks, databases, and other technical domains
• Bachelor's or higher in information management, information systems, law, computer science, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

• IAPP certification (CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT) or CISA
• Experience with global payment regulations such as Payments Services Directive 2 in the EU
