Overview


Join our fast-paced development team as you support and work alongside a talented, cross-functional product engineering team on the latest geospatial technologies. You will bring prior experiences, best practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive design initiatives across our Tysons Research & Development Center.

Responsibilities


  • Take ownership of design features from brainstorming and prototyping through implementation
  • Work closely with other designers and product engineers to iterate on visual designs
  • Apply analysis skills and tools to assess design usability, accessibility, and feasibility
  • Effectively organize and communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to the product development team
  • Collaborate closely with developers as designs are brought to life to ensure a seamless user experience
  • Exercise knowledge of established design patterns and components to ensure consistency across platforms and products
  • Help build and curate product design libraries, contributing to the evolution of design patterns
  • Support other team activities as needed, such as conferences, product demos, and testing

Requirements


  • 3-5 years of experience designing desktop, web, and/or mobile applications
  • Experience designing enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles and platform interface guidelines
  • Highly proficient with design software such as Figma, Sketch, XD, and Illustrator
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity user interface designs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to solve problems in collaboration with a team of designers, developers, and other team members or stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual design, interaction design, human factors, or a related field
