If so, you should consider working at Esri to help build the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. The Living Atlas is the largest geospatial data collection in the world, is widely used across the ArcGIS platform, and is fast becoming the backbone of web GIS. As a product engineer for the team, you will be involved in building and creating new KPIs for the planet using live feed information from satellites, real time sensors, weather models, and open data sources.


  • Collaborate with a small team to develop, curate, and publish global datasets as web services to support mapping and analysis
  • Integrate new data sources, update existing services with new data, and help innovate new methodologies for publishing and consuming the Living Atlas services
  • Investigate emerging trends and techniques for modeling live feed information to better serve the needs of the ArcGIS community
  • Build and curate content that enables the GIS community to work effectively, solve problems, and make better decisions
  • Prepare documentation and blogs and write papers on analytic and publishing methods and trends
  • Team with customers such as NOAA, USDA, NCAR, NASA, and other key content building organizations to help bring their data to life in the Living Atlas
  • Support Esri’s development teams to integrate Living Atlas services across the ArcGIS platform


  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
  • Demonstrated experience with Python; ArcGIS Software; Geoprocessing Tools; Remote Sensing; and K-NN
  • Master’s in data science, information technology, computer science, engineering (any field), or related field of study
