The ArcGIS Community Maps team is responsible for keeping Esri’s basemaps on the leading edge by performing continuous updates to over 1 billion individual features across the globe. Our goal is to make data contained in our basemaps the most up-to date on the market to help our users make crucial decisions.

We are looking for someone with a passion for working with geospatial data and workflows. You will play a key role in processing large data sets, testing workflows, and coming up with new techniques to build efficiencies and improve quality checks within our current processes.


  • Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) geospatial and tabular data from multiple formats into a standardized data model
  • Develop, test, and refine data migration workflows and tools or scripts
  • Create workflow documentation and conduct efficiency testing tasks
  • Demonstrate and instruct workflow procedures to subcontractors, and review subcontractor work quality
  • Maintain data project schedules, estimate project durations, and provide project milestone status reports


  • 2+ years of experience working with enterprise geodatabase tables with Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Experience creating and using Python geoprocessing scripts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s in information technology, GIS, geography, computer science, or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience creating, documenting, and using data ETL workflows
  • Experience working with distributed resources or teams
  • Knowledge of the ArcGIS platform including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases
  • Working experience with MS SQL Server Studio
  • Experience with the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension and/or Safe Software FME tools
