Overview


The ArcGIS Community Maps team is responsible for keeping Esri’s basemaps on the leading edge by performing continuous updates to over 1 billion individual features across the globe. Our goal is to make data contained in our basemaps the most up-to date on the market to help our users make crucial decisions.

We are looking for someone with a passion for working with geospatial data, creating online maps, and coordinating GIS mapping projects. You will work with a large variety of vector data sets, including editing and performing quality assurance processes to ensure cartographic standards. The right candidate will have a discipline for executing tasks under deadlines while maintaining a high quality of their work, and enthusiasm for assisting our Community Maps clients with building the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World.

Responsibilities


  • Evaluate and assess data for integration and cartographic standards
  • Coordinate and communicate with customers regarding data feedback, requirements, and project status
  • Organize and delegate assignments to subcontractors
  • Assess map and data processing quality assurance procedures
  • Perform geospatial data editing tasks in ArcGIS as needed
  • Utilize ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Workflow Manager, JIRA, MS Excel

Requirements


  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to deliver work within time constraints, in a team environment and individually
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to articulate complex problems simply and procedurally
  • Strong attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered
  • Ability to understand new data requirements and concepts quickly and apply them accurately through an evolving, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor’s in GIS, geography, environmental science, or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications


  • Knowledge of or experience in data editing, digital map, and data publication
  • Knowledge of or experience in data quality assurance processes
  • Experience with GIS and/or the Esri ArcGIS platform including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
