Overview


Join the ArcGIS StoryMaps team and help us build a new digital storytelling tool with unprecedented mapping capabilities. Authors around the world use story maps to drive change, influence opinion, and create awareness with their stories getting millions of pageviews a day.


You will work with designers and developers to design, build, and run cutting-edge native mobile apps on iOS and Android. You will be involved at every stage of product development from brainstorming broad ideas to ensuring quality through launch. Using your full range of product engineering, communication, and product thinking skills, you will be responsible for delivering a stable and useful product that meets customer needs.

Responsibilities


  • Coordinate with designers and developers to build native mobile apps on iOS and Android

  • Execute functional, regression, and acceptance tests on a variety of projects in a fast-paced and fulfilling environment

  • Engage with customers for problem solving and product feedback

  • Help creating user guides and product documentation

  • Assist in assessing product quality and release readiness

  • Deliver high quality applications to the mobile app stores

Requirements


  • 2+ years of product engineering experience
  • Experience building customer-focused mobile apps
  • Demonstrated expertise on the iOS and Android platforms
  • Passion for data driven product and design decisions with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective problem solving and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the English language
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to quickly to change
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work in cooperative team environments and take initiative to help when needed
  • Bachelor’s or higher in software engineering, GIS, or related field, depending on position level (master’s preferred)

Recommended Qualifications


  • Knowledge of software localization, internationalization, and accessibility
  • Hands-on experience working with mobile UI kits and platform-specific UI patterns
  • Has submitted apps in app store and Google Play
  • Has worked with simulators and emulators for testing builds
  • Good working knowledge of XCode and Android Studio
