Are you eager to apply your GIS experience and problem-solving abilities to make it easier for others to analyze, visualize, and model demographic and socio-economic data? This is a great opportunity to contribute to Esri’s initiatives to make content more accessible and mission ready. As a key member of the content development and publishing team, you’ll help build our demographic data strategy and shape the design of our next generation content.

Responsibilities


  • Establish and define the requirements of a modern content warehouse and data custodian process within Esri for all demographic and socioeconomic content
  • Collaborate with software and data developers to build processes to improve operational efficiency, data maintenance, and release timeliness
  • Establish and define internal customer requirements; translate them into new processes and workflow improvements
  • Support and interact with existing customers (internal and external) to improve the value, relevance, and applicability of content to our existing and future users.
  • Engage with Esri’s internal science and analytics community to identify and support their needs within the content development process
  • Identify workflow enhancements and process gaps
  • Follow the evolution of analytics and data technology to maintain best practices and domain knowledge
  • Help define the international and domestic content roadmap and provide leadership to a small team supporting content development and innovation
  • Assist with implementation of new technology designs and content management software

Requirements


  • A high level of understanding of data preparation, management, conversion, and productization using automation and ETL tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Proven ability to focus on detail and deliver work, in teams or individually
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Passion and ability to lead projects and make a difference
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in GIS, computer science, or a related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications


  • Knowledge of Python and other scripting languages
  • Extensive experience with ArcGIS or other geospatial technology
  • Industry experience in data development, production, or automation
  • Familiarity with system and web server administration
  • Experience in database management, BI, or analytics software
