Software Reliability Engineers are responsible for ensuring that the ArcGIS Enterprise product is reliable, highly available, and has powerful disaster recovery features. They do this by gathering user requirements, defining them for the team, evaluating the product, and guiding users through documentation, videos, and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Esri's strong user-focus by gathering software reliability and availability requirements
  • Collect requirements directly from users and indirectly from Esri staff in Support and Professional Services
  • Collaborate and influence decisions within and across teams because reliability features and requirements cut across all functionalities
  • Prioritize and guarantee software quality by creating test plans, automating those tests, evaluating the results, and ensuring that defects are acted upon
  • Communicate effectively with our users through written documentation as well as presentations

Requirements

  • 2-6 years in a position with operational responsibilities, such as monitoring, maintaining, and deploying enterprise software
  • Experience in software testing
  • Fundamental understanding of web services, such as REST
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a complex backend-server stack
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science and applications, math, GIS, geography, or related field
  • Existing work authorization for India

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, computer science and applications, math, GIS, geography, or related field
  • Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Experience working directly on a software development team
