Overview


Bring your passion for writing engaging and approachable content to a dynamic and influential team at Esri. The ArcGIS Online and apps writing team is looking for an experienced, creative, and hard-working writer to create lessons, blog articles, user guides, videos, stories, and help documentation for a variety of ArcGIS products and communities.

In this role, you will work closely with teams across Esri to create resources around real-world problem-solving, scenario-based learning, and applied GIS workflows. We are looking for individuals who have a strong problem solving and analytical mindset who can translate complex ideas into clear and compelling messages within established deadlines.

Responsibilities


  • Develop blog articles, lessons, guides, and videos that provide guidance, best practices, and applied workflows for various ArcGIS products
  • Write and publish help documentation
  • Collaborate with product marketing, product management, marketing, sales, development, and various education teams to integrate stories and documentation across various Esri web pages

Requirements


  • Portfolio Submission: Writing samples of your recent work
  • 1+ years of professional writing experience; ideally a blended background including technical and creative writing
  • Exposure to Esri products
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaround
  • Bachelor's or higher in GIS, computer science, journalism, English, or related field
