Product Engineering Writer II - ArcGIS Online

Overview

Bring your passion for writing engaging and approachable content to a dynamic and influential team at Esri. The product writing team is looking for an experienced, creative, and hard-working writer to create reference help documentation, blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials about ArcGIS Online. In this role as a product engineer writer, you will work closely with teams across Esri to create narratives and resources about web GIS, collaboration, data sharing, and other applied GIS workflows. We are looking for an individual who has a strong planning, problem-solving, and analytical mindset. Someone who can translate complex ideas into clear and compelling messages within established deadlines is well-suited for this role.

Responsibilities

• Write and publish reference help documentation in our content management system for ArcGIS Online, Esri’s premier cloud GIS system
• Create blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials that provide guidance, best practices, and applied workflows about ArcGIS Online collaboration, administration, data sharing, app builders, and more
• Collaborate with product marketing, product management, marketing, sales, development, and other teams to provide learning resources

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional writing experience related to ArcGIS Online or web GIS; ideally a blended background including technical and creative writing
• Exposure to DITA-based content management systems to create and publish documents
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content
• Effective time management and organizational skills; work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaround
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent work
• Bachelors in GIS, cartography, computer science, English, or related field, depending on position level
• Portfolio Submission: Writing samples of your recent work

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $66,560.00 - $104,000.00.
