Product Manager - Android and Java APIs

Overview

Inspire our developer community while driving the vision and technical roadmap for our Android and Java APIs. This opportunity will utilize your diverse skillset by exercising your technical knowledge, you ability to evangelize to our developer community, and setting the strategy for how these products are used across the ArcGIS platform.

This role requires a highly driven, self-motivated individual who will work with our development staff, regional offices, distributors, and partners to provide pre- and post-sales support.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Esri’s global community of developers and partners to understand their needs as they relate to Android and Java APIs
• Collaborate with development teams to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
• Evangelize the product in Esri’s developer community by attending industry trade shows, conferences, hackathons, and webinars and through social media engagement
• Maintain technical product information throughout the development life cycle and release by contributing to white papers, presentations, etc.
• Serve as subject matter expert for Java and Android APIs with customers, partners, and distributors by researching and staying up to date with current technology trends
• Work closely with internal teams such as technical support, business development, marketing, and competitive intelligence to successfully launch new releases and educate on product updates

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in product management/ownership or technical consulting
• 1+ years of experience working with APIs for Android or Java
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at the technical level
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
• Energetic, creative, and self-motivated
• Ability to attend and present at conferences
• Bachelor’s or master's in computer science, GIS, or related fields of study, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analytics, or similar geospatial technology
• Familiarity with the Android and Java community and latest trends
