Esri is seeking an experienced security product manager to create exceptional products that continue to be built on a secure foundation. Bringing your security experience, you’ll serve as the liaison across our product, sales, and security teams by understanding and advocating for our customers' security requirements and priorities.


Your emphasis will be on providing security intelligence to our product teams, influencing product development priorities, ensuring integration with our larger software security and privacy team, and leading product management’s security communications internally and to our customers.


The successful candidate will have proven software product management and security expertise based on identifying customer needs and leading innovative and critical innovation into software products.


This position is available in all Esri offices and is eligible for remote consideration.


  • Develop a security product strategy and roadmap, driving critical requirements from concept to delivery
  • Evangelize and advocate the value and importance of cybersecurity across Esri’s product portfolio and ensure all products, apps, extensions, and web sites have a security strategy included in their respective product and productization plans
  • Participate in addressing customer product security questionnaires and contractual requirements
  • Organize and share customer requirements and priorities with other product managers and the development team to collaborate and prioritize the product’s roadmap
  • Conduct customer product briefings and conference presentations on security
  • Develop and manage project plans for launch and software updates related to security
  • Author technical papers on security best practices and assist with generation of marketing materials and social media marketing including blogs
  • Provide product expertise at key customer sites to understand their business needs and aid with mission critical projects


  • 3+ years of cyber security experience with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services and/or on-premises enterprise-class products
  • 1+ years of your experience should include aligning products or services with security and privacy standards such as CJIS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST, Cybersecurity Framework, GDPR
  • Knowledge of the ArcGIS platform or good understanding of a product suite of similar complexity
  • In-depth experience identifying and protecting against web application and web service security vulnerabilities including those found in the Open Web Application Security Project Top 10 and CWE Top 25
  • A strong IT/development background with in-depth knowledge of several key security practice areas: access control, application security, network security, security architecture, security strategy
  • Excellent presentation and verbal and written communication skills at the technical and senior executive level
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business or technical field
  • Cloud and security industry certifications such as AWS and Azure certifications, SSCP, CCSP, and others as applicable
  • Experience with cloud architecture and components including compute, storage, and networking as well as scripting experience (tools, process, methods, troubleshooting) and deployment concepts such as continuous integration
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture, development, and secure coding practices
  • Experience with web and mobile platform security as well as security certifications used by federal, law enforcement, and healthcare organizations
  • Pragmatic Marketing Framework experience and/or certifications

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $83,200 - $145,600
