Overview


Join Esri and help lead a team that is building the only urban planning and design system that is backed by the power of ArcGIS! You will be responsible for synthesizing and prioritizing requirements from customers and key industry partners to maintain and develop product plans and roadmaps for how ArcGIS Urban and related Esri products and technologies can succeed in the urban planning and design market. You will work with an extended team of developers, professional services, marketing, sales, partners, and customers to refine, maintain, and promote the story and vision behind ArcGIS Urban to help drive awareness and adoption. This role is an integral part of our efforts to engage customers, solve problems, and influence industry groups and strategic partners to better integrate geospatial data and technology into the tools and workflows that shape the world around us.

Responsibilities


  • Clarify, prioritize, and evangelize the roadmap for ArcGIS Urban and related technologies and products required to meet key market and customer segment adoption milestones around urban planning and design
  • Oversee the process of engaging with strategic customers and partners to gather requirements, prioritize needs, and understand business workflows, specifically focusing on ArcGIS Urban
  • Coordinate strategic effort around customer and partner engagement with colleagues in Global Business Development, Industry Management, and Professional Services
  • Develop deep knowledge of urban planning and design trends and technologies including areas such as Smart Cities and Digital Twins
  • Evangelize products and technologies in your subject area through blogs, papers, and presentations
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and other groups to develop and maintain go-to-market plans, working with distributors and Esri channel teams to drive execution
  • Communicate product plans and messaging to partners and distributors to evangelize Esri’s role in strategic industries
  • Analyze potential partner relationships

Requirements


  • Proven experience in urban planning and design practice, technology, or products, preferably with familiarity of both the owner/operator and the engineering and architecture consulting points of view
  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent in the product management, development, release, and support of software development in an Agile environment (5+ years preferred)
  • Experience with design or engineering applications and technology for visualization, architecture, GIS, or urban planning
  • Capability to effectively document and verbally communicate market requirements as user stories and other software development artifacts to technical staff
  • Ability to present to customers and to cultivate strategic relationships with customers and partners
  • Demonstrated experience managing mid-career-level staff
  • Ability to work well with remote management and staff
  • Experience developing productive relationships with customers, partners, colleagues, and management
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated, creative, and team-oriented
  • Ability to accommodate early morning work Pacific Time to collaborate with a European development team
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Bachelor’s or higher in GIS, architecture, urban planning, engineering, or other relevant field, depending on position level and experience

Recommended Qualifications


  • Consulting services and/or project management experience associated with AEC practice, urban planning applications, or city modeling technologies in real-world contexts
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and design techniques
  • Writing samples
