Overview


Join a team of product managers supporting the data needs of users with ready-to-use spatial and location based data products and services. Esri users are solving some of the world’s toughest challenges. To support their work, Esri strives to provide the right data in the right way, meeting users where and how they work. As a member of the Data and Location Services product management team, you will use your experience with spatial and location based data to drive product development of ready-to-use data products and location services.

Responsibilities


  • Engage with Esri’s global community of users to understand their needs for spatial and location based data
  • Develop deep knowledge of the types of data in demand and how they are served/consumed
  • Manage the product life cycle, including execution of tactical activities and strategic planning
  • Collaborate with product marketing for the go‐to‐market strategy and other initiatives, (i.e. customer success stories), product positioning, key benefits, and target customers
  • Develop and document user personas, use cases, and detailed product requirements to help internal teams understand market needs
  • Coordinate with internal teams including business development, software development, market research, and marketing to maintain product vision, strategy, and roadmap and ensure that implementation of data and location services across the ArcGIS system are consistent and match expectations of our users
  • Define, track, and analyze key product usage, adoption, and performance metrics to provide strategic recommendations
  • Recommend and develop third-party data and software relationships to support market and product needs and support the contracts and legal teams to establish agreements
  • Support trade shows such as the Esri Partner Conference, Esri Developer Summit, and the Esri User Conference

Requirements


  • 3+ years working as a product manager, technical consultant, product owner, or similar capacity
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at the technical and senior executive level
  • Self-motivated, creative, and team-oriented
  • Ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps
  • Bachelor’s in a technical field, e.g. geography, computer science, or engineering,depending on position level (master's preferred)

Recommended Qualifications


  • Experience with spatial and location based data and its use cases
  • Experience with GIS software
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with the Pragmatic Marketing Framework
