Help us show how Esri technology is reshaping the world we live in! Use your outstanding editing skills to assist the publications team with its major publication, ArcWatch. As the editor, you'll create, edit, write, and produce a monthly digital newsletter that is provided as an email and a website.


  • Select and/or write articles that highlight the use and developments of Esri technology
  • Edit all content for each monthly issue
  • Interview customers, managers, and others to collect material for articles
  • Thoroughly fact check and have all content reviewed by subject matter experts and legal team
  • Obtain graphics for articles
  • Create the web and email versions of each issue of ArcWatch
  • Keep current on Esri products, services, and events as well as the geospatial industry
  • Interact with Esri customers to understand their needs and desires and better support them
  • Support the publications team as needed


  • 5+ years of professional experience as a writer 
  • 2+ years of professional experience as an editor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The desire to learn about and remain current with developments in the geospatial industry and with Esri technology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Bachelor's in GIS, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field

To be considered, a portfolio or samples of recent work that demonstrate writing and editing skills must be included in your submission.

Recommended Qualifications

  • A background in GIS, both theory and practice
  • Hands-on experience using Esri software
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
