Overview


The Esri R&D Center Zurich is seeking skilled and creative interns to work on challenging projects that consist of the research and development of early-stage prototype software or methods (several interesting work topics are available). These internships are a great opportunity to gain professional work experience in a leading-edge technology environment. This is a five- or six-month full-time, paid internship available with two weeks of vacation.

Responsibilities


  • Select or define a focused internship project in the areas of 3D graphics (modeling, animation, rendering, game engines, XR), machine learning (urban analytics/simulation, design automation), architecture (urban design, city planning, visualization), or 3D Web GIS (spatial analysis, web cartography, web apps).
  • Research the state of the art on the topic and study real-world use cases
  • Propose a design and work plan and discuss it with your supervisor and colleagues
  • Start implementing the work plan and share results with the team as you go
  • Document the finished work, make showcase videos, and present it to the team. Optional: contribute as author to a scientific paper submission (e.g., SIGGRAPH or Eurographics)
  • Optional: contribute to the daily development tasks in one of our Scrum product teams (as additional side track)

Requirements


  • Strong background in computer graphics, machine learning, architecture, or GIS
  • Self-initiative, responsible, self-controlled, and self-motivating
  • Good verbal and written skills in English and/or German
  • Authorization to work in Zurich, Switzerland
  • MSc in computer science, architecture or GIS (completion or final year of study)
