Raster Product Engineer II – Enterprise Specialist

Overview

Apply your creativity and analytical skills to help our Software Products team design, build, and test software features in Esri’s Enterprise and SaaS (Software as a Service) products. In this role, you will work with software developers and product engineers in creating robust, scalable, and high performance software capabilities focusing on large-volume imagery data management, distributed raster analysis, drone and aerial imagery processing, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your cloud computing skill set in the areas of Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. As an enterprise specialist, you will exercise your deployment, automation, and scripting skills to help develop a new generation of image services utilizing modern microservices and Kubernetes technologies. This position is based at Esri's headquarters in Southern California.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and automate ArcGIS Image Server quality and performance testing
• Design, develop, and automate ArcGIS Raster Analytics quality and performance testing
• Design, develop, and automate ArcGIS Reality Mapping quality and performance testing
• Help design, develop, and exercise the ArcGIS API for Python
• Design image processing models and raster analysis models which can be used to validate and verify ArcGIS Raster Analytics capabilities
• Analyze daily test results and report daily quality status
• Become an expert in ArcGIS deployment platforms including Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure (includes technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes)

Requirements

• 2+ years experience working with GIS, remote sensing, or photogrammetry software
• Intermediate development skills using Java, C#, or Python
• Intermediate understanding of image processing or raster processing
• Excellent test engineering and problem-solving skills
• Desire and ability to learn new skills and contribute to producing quality commercial software
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, GIS, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

• 2-4 years of system integration or test engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS
• Experience with one or more cloud computing infrastructures (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and more)
• Experience with working with microservices such as Docker, or software orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Experience with PyUnit, JUnit, CppUnit, Selenium, or other testing frameworks
• Familiarity with raster and imagery data formats
• Master's degree in computer science, GIS, or related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $72,800.00 - $124,800.00.
