Raster Product Engineer – Ortho Mapping Specialist

Overview

Do you have a strong interest how drone, aerial, and satellite imagery is used to map the earth? Are you passionate about innovating map production using remotely sensed data? If so, Esri is looking for you to apply your photogrammetry or remote sensing background and experience to help our software products team build and deploy Esri ortho mapping technologies.

In this role, you will work with development and product engineer leads in designing, creating, and engineering software to support the rapid growth of producing accurate maps and GIS data from remotely sensed imagery. This is an exciting opportunity to apply traditional photogrammetric processing and modern computer vision techniques to innovate map production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and test ArcGIS ortho mapping capabilities in the Esri Geospatial Cloud including ArcGIS Pro Ortho Mapping, ArcGIS Ortho Maker, and ArcGIS Drone2Map
• Collaborate with software developers on software project teams to help build new software, plan for future releases, and support existing releases
• Help test new ortho mapping user experiences, workflows, and analytics using customer data
• Help develop systematic and repeatable regression test suites
• Help develop the future roadmap for ArcGIS ortho mapping capabilities
• Support technology demonstrations for industry events such as InterDrone and the Esri User Conference
• Act as a technical point of contact for industry business partners and integrators to ensure Esri interoperability

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• 5+ years of remote sensing, image processing, photogrammetry, and image analysis experience
• 5+ years of GIS and ArcGIS product experience
• 5+ years of engineering experience working on COTS or GOTS software products
• Bachelor's in geomatics, computer science, geography, remote sensing, or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience with ArcGIS Drone2Map, ArcGIS Pro Ortho Mapping, or ArcGIS Ortho Maker
• Experience with Leica Photogrammetric Suite, PCI Geomatica OrthoEngine, or Socet GXP
• Experience with remotely sensed data from drones, airborne platforms, and spaceborne platforms (satellites)
• Familiarity with the traditional photogrammetric analogue and softcopy workflows
• Experience writing technical user documentation or technical developer documentation
• Experience designing modern user experiences for both desktop and web applications
