Research, develop, and implement new sales plans that will drive awareness, demand, and adoption of Esri Press publications to users and students across the globe. Esri Press is the industry standard for delivering quality geospatial learning content. In this role, you'll be responsible for opening up channels and marketing to educational institutions and users in all sectors.. Our ideal candidate is a highly driven, self-motivated individual who will bring in-depth knowledge and understanding of sales and marketing for book publishing. They understand consumer requirements, identify market trends, observe competitors, and suggest system improvements to achieve marketing and sales goals.


  • Manage the conception, writing, development, and implementation of user-focused sales marketing materials and promotional assets
  • Develop clear, strategic, and attractive advertising sales offerings using both internal and external opportunities including print, digital, social, video, branded content, and events
  • Determine the overall advertising sales strategy, brand positioning, competitor reviews, and category positioning; use data driven insights to optimize campaigns and direct future offerings
  • Help to identify potential partnership opportunities with retailers, entertainment, broadcast, OTT, events, and other media to enhance our advertising sales opportunities
  • Manage the integration of budgets and estimates for marketing campaigns, involvement in negotiations, and collaboration with advertising agencies
  • Develop future growth plans, annual budgets, and profit plans for both domestic and international sales


  • 5+ years of sales and marketing within book publishing; strong preference for experience selling educational institutions
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to drive on-time, on-budget projects
  • Exceptional skills in written and verbal communication, customer service, and creative thinking
  • Strong sales and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) skills
  • Bachelor’s in business, marketing, public relations, or communications

Recommended Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Workfront project management software, Adobe Creative Cloud, Pardot, and SEO
  • Knowledge of data analysis and report writing
