Security Specialist

Overview

Utilize your experience in U.S. Government security management in Esri’s D.C. regional office located in Vienna, VA. In this critical role you will conduct or assist with the management of all security functions in accordance with NISPOM, DCID, and other government regulations, coordinating closely with both U.S. Government counterparts and Esri’s Corporate Facility Security Office in Redlands, California.

Responsibilities

• Support both collateral level security programs and special access programs
• Conduct daily coordination/communications with both the Esri Corporate and St. Charles Facility Security Offices
• Provide day-to-day security execution and support of all security operations in the Esri-D.C. office including:
  • Personnel clearance processing, noms, tracking, INDOCs, reporting, & debriefs;
  • Daily use of personnel clearance data systems such as DISS and Access Commander
  • Classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination
  • Physical security operations including alarm call-list, guard service liaison and escorting
  • Support new construction and facility initiatives
  • Maintain accountability of classified government-furnished information and equipment
  • Participate in the preparation for and conducting of Government inspections and audits
  • Maintain and support certification and accreditation of the facilities
• Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions
• Enhance and participate in an active security awareness and education program
• Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies – including visiting the security offices of several agencies on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to discuss security procedures
• Assure compliance with all government and company security regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in a field related to Industrial security or information systems
• Possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with recent Single-scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
• Minimum of four years of experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or contractor community in security management
• Familiarity with NISPOM and DCID guidance documents
• Significant experience with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
• Proficient with Microsoft applications
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Security Specialist with associated training and credentials
• Experience using Access Commander software
• Successful completion of the following STEPP courses: Basic Industrial Security for the Government Security Specialist; FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities
