Senior Business Operations Specialist

Overview

Provide business support to our training services team, enabling us to empower our customers to solve the world’s problems with GIS. Your role will be to collaborate with our team to envision, define, and coordinate the business management of new training products, including the ability to identify and understand market opportunities and how they can be realized and delivered via product innovations. You will build relationships and drive collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders to define product documentation, pricing, contracts, and business processes. This role requires a highly driven, self-motivated individual who will work with technical and product development team members, our training sales staff, and our global training (distributor) team to provide pre- and post-sales support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders in training services to define, document, and implement the vision and strategy for new training products
• Document productization plans for training products, including pricing and business process definition (sales, order initiation, order fulfillment, and billing)
• Maintain product information and document a roadmap for features and functionality to include in future releases
• Ensure launch readiness for products or updates by coordinating plans, processes, and communication with leadership and stakeholders (training sales, training marketing, global training, customer service)
• Work closely with leadership team, project managers, and marketing specialists to help define go-to-market strategies, product stories, and product marketing materials
• Assist in competitive analysis and gap analysis for existing and new training products
• Collaborate with contracts team to develop customer-facing product agreements
• Identify, research, and solve a wide range of business-related issues, including customer or other stakeholder concerns
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement improvements to business processes
• Support product and program revenue verification to ensure accurate billing and recognition
• Prepare product and program P&L statements and analysis and present recommendations to leadership team

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting business product management, including productization and/or process improvement
• 2+ years of experience with business applications, including SAP and Microsoft Office (emphasis in Excel)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to build consensus with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with key stakeholders and senior leadership through email, documentation, and presentations
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to use influence to lead people and projects
• Bachelor’s in business administration, or a related field (MBA preferred)
