Overview


Site Scan for ArcGIS is an Esri SaaS software product that is revolutionizing drone data collection and processing, delivering state-of-the-art mapping and analytics to thousands of customers worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to take a pivotal role in the evolution of both Site Scan Flight and Site Scan Manager. Both Site Scan apps function together to support a highly automated, end-to-end drone mapping workflow. You will guide our users to intuitively plan drone missions, fly safely, collect data, process imagery, visualize processed outputs, and distribute results to stakeholders.


You will work with our cross-functional team of software engineers, product engineers, test engineers, and product management to deliver a cutting-edge user experience. You will be intimately involved in our team’s agile software development based out of the Berkeley R&D center. You will collaborate in the requirement building phase all the way through feature testing and validation. We encourage and anticipate innovation by researching the latest trends and incorporating these ideas in your designs.

Responsibilities


  • Synthesize complex requirements and your own research to create designs for both the Site Scan Flight iOS app and Site Scan Manager web app
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional team members including developers, product engineers, test engineers, product management, and business stakeholders, to ensure user experiences will resonate with Site Scan customers
  • Interview users to understand their workflows and challenges in collaboration with Product Engineers and Managers.
  • Contribute UX solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes and mockups to interactive prototypes, and adjust designs based on feedback
  • Stay up to date with software design trends and technologies and bring new ideas to the team
  • Network with other ArcGIS development and design teams to support interoperability and integrations.
  • Manage a large body of work in a fast-paced environment

Requirements


  • 5+ years of UX design experience in web applications and iOS applications
  • Experience with Figma
  • Experience transforming complex requirements and workflows into an intuitive user experience
  • Ability to articulate design ideas, decisions, and encourage constructive critique
  • Knowledge of internationalization and accessibility concepts as applied to software designs
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work in cooperative team environments
  • Willing and enthusiastic to learn about drone mapping, Site Scan target industries, and user personas in order to create relatable designs that address common challenges for our users in the field and in the office

Recommended Qualifications


  • Prior experience creating designs for spatial/mapping applications
  • Understanding of Apple’s human interface iOS design guidelines including SwiftUI
  • Experience with issue and project management in GitHub or similar software
  • Familiarity with scrum and agile software development
  • Familiarity with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
