Overview


We are seeking a Senior Product Designer with a passion for working with complex data to create and evolve a Web GIS application where users can perform task-based editing workflows leveraging an intelligent data model. In this role you will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional team members on the development of a brand-new editing application from initial ideation to beta to 1.0 release. Your work will influence future development of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and enable full support for web editing across the ArcGIS platform.

Responsibilities


  • Work with developers, product managers, and other cross-functional team members to design end-to-end experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify requirements and specifications for the development of new and established features
  • Craft personas, user journeys, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Be a design leader, ensuring that others understand the value and effectiveness of user-centered design
  • Stay fresh on new technologies and trends in GIS and the web app space
  • Work with leadership and stakeholders to suggest and implement improvements for team processes
  • Identify enhancements based on research (usability testing, scenario writing, study moderating and observing with prototypes and fully developed projects)

Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience designing for enterprise software, or similar experience
  • High proficiency with accessibility with a desire to learn more
  • Proven proclivity toward self-ownership and driving results beyond your expected duties for the good of the product and team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Leave ego at the door, making way for data-driven empathy and a collaborative work ethic
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives
  • Bachelor's in human factors, HCI, graphic design, or related field (master's or higher preferred)
