Overview


Leverage your technical expertise, leadership experience, and passion for process improvement to manage and deliver large transformational projects. This challenging and fulfilling role is within Esri’s Information Systems and Technology (IST) Division, whose mission is to enable Esri’s business objectives and operational initiatives. Partnered with forward-thinking colleagues in IT as well as other business functions, you will have the opportunity to directly lead transformation of legacy processes and systems throughout the organization.

Responsibilities


  • Manage cross-functional projects using the appropriate project management methodology; define project phases, milestones, activities, and tasks
  • Manage scope, quality, schedule, cost, contracts, and deliverables aligned with project goals, objectives, and business requirements
  • Partner with colleagues to develop business cases; define project goals, objectives, and success criteria; and define metrics to measure project performance
  • Effectively present and advocate for designed solutions to various stakeholders; use your domain expertise to explain how the solution will advance business objectives
  • Remove roadblocks by identifying issues early, proactively identifying solutions, and escalating as appropriate
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with project stakeholders, project team members, and senior leaders
  • Conduct research in project management approaches, techniques, and tool sets that will improve the productivity and quality of delivered projects
  • Use, champion, and improve the project methodology, tools, and artifact templates
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in project management and guide other team members.
  • Capture and communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans
  • May manage and/or mentor staff, including career development and resource planning

Requirements


  • 7+ years of project management experience, including experience managing IT projects, with a consistent trajectory of increasing responsibility and breadth
  • Demonstrated success in defining, planning, and implementing business process and technology transformation projects, collecting feedback, and iterating
  • Experience successfully championing change through advocacy, collaboration, and communication
  • Experience with Agile, Lean, and DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with ITIL processes, ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, CMDB, and related tools and practices
  • Understanding of data flows, integrations, and application programmatic interfaces (APIs)
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and plan and implement collaboratively
  • Excel at influencing peers, colleagues, and senior leaders to achieve outcomes
  • Strong sense of accountability for the success of the team and a passion for delivering value
  • Experience proactively escalating issues to appropriate levels of management
  • Strong understanding and work experience with project budgets and financial management
  • Ability to lead others during ambiguity
  • Bachelor’s in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems

Recommended Qualifications


  • Experience in an IT operations role either as a direct leader or senior contributor
  • Experience with public and private cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, & VMware preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, preferably in an architecture/implementer capacity
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, including extended business partners and third-party vendors
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience working in functional areas such as product development, product management, or professional services in a software development company
  • Experience directly leading organizational change management activities
  • ITIL and PMP certifications
