Overview


As a senior solution engineer on the Partner Technical Enablement team, you will be part of a highly skilled group that leads strategies on the effective adoption and use of the ArcGIS system for the partner channel. We invite you to use your problem-solving skills and passion for GIS technology to guide partners on their journey partnering with Esri. We’re looking for an individual who is a natural GIS evangelist and enjoys identifying and promoting technical strategies that will radically improve the way partners address the challenges they face. You’ll work closely with a team that helps our mature and developing partners take advantage of the ArcGIS System to find unique solutions, trends, and understanding hidden within complex business problems.

Responsibilities


  • Lead Technical Strategy. Develop go-to-market strategies for partners aligned with Esri’s business and technology goals and industry trends.
  • Build relationships. Become a core member of the partner team as you present, demonstrate, and support partners building with ArcGIS technology.
  • Be an expert. Be a technical leader of Esri technology as well as a subject matter expert of our partner network. Demonstrate your advanced understanding of sales strategies and initiatives to develop complex solutions for Esri’s most strategic customers. Understand an organization’s business structure, associated workflows, third party business systems, and integration points. Actively share knowledge and support and mentor new team members.
  • Solve problems. Present GIS technical demonstrations of proposed solutions to partners. Understand how to design presentations for technical and non-technical partner audiences within various organizations.
  • Tell our story. Design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences within Esri’s largest customers. Provide configuration guidance and best practices. Present at large conferences and executive engagements.
  • Mentor. Provide mentorship to peers and solution engineers throughout Esri working with business partners.

Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
  • Relevant experience using current GIS technology and leveraging the full ArcGIS enterprise suite of tools to demonstrate Esri’s patterns of use
  • Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
  • Experience with ArcGIS web applications and/or other web application development
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and/or a working knowledge of AWS and Azure platforms
  • Familiarity with APIs and SDKs
  • Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience

Recommended Qualifications


  • Experience incorporating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure
  • Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems such as BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of digitalization strategies that include mobile, IoT, advanced analytics and data science (AI/ML), and image
  • Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
  • Direct experience working with channel partners and developers
  • Past participation in developer events (hackathon, hackfest, codefest, and more)
  • Front end, back end or automation programming and scripting experience with any of the following: Python, JavaScript, Swift, Kotlin, HTML5
  • Experience with DBMS technology such as SAP HANA, SQL Server, DB2 or Oracle

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

  

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $87,360.00 - $162,240.00.
