Overview


Come join our design team to create and validate designs for our cloud-based mapping app ArcGIS Online. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other designers and product development to enable organizations that connect people, locations, and data using interactive maps that create positive change in our world.

Responsibilities


  • Craft interface designs and prototypes from wireframes and user requirements that demonstrate new designs to developers and product managers, promoting usability, usefulness, and uniformity with the ArcGIS Platform
  • Collaborate with other designers and developers, in pairs and in larger groups, to elevate and iterate on our current design solutions
  • Validate design work leveraging basic usability testing approaches and other user-facing research that elevate and evolve our team's research capabilities
  • Work closely with developers to ensure implementation is done to spec and good business relationships are set up for future design success
  • Serve as a brand steward, ensuring consistency of site appearance via use of style guides, iconography, and enforcement of established standards and best practices
  • Stay up to speed on latest mobile, web, and responsive design patterns and technologies
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to other members of the design team

Requirements


  • 5+ years of relevant experience specializing in visual design for the web including responsive design
  • Excellent ability to solve problems conceptually in collaboration with the entire interactive team, including writers, user experience designers, and developers
  • Intermediate html/css skills
  • Experience using, adhering to established pattern libraries, required frameworks, Figma UI Kits
  • Knowledge of accessibility, with a desire to learn more
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives
  • Bachelor's in human factors, HCI, graphic design, or related field (master's or higher preferred)
