Overview


Do you have a deep understanding of social media with a proven track record of planning, delivering, and reporting on a range of social media campaigns? As a seasoned B2B social media leader with expertise across various social platforms, you will be responsible for driving Esri’s social media strategy and operations including planning, directing, and executing content creation and amplification, ensuring that Esri engages with our community of existing audiences. You will also be responsible for building out a strategy to reach new audiences, establishing and building relationships with key strategic influencers.

Beyond managing the social media team, you’ll build and leverage relationships with other Esri teams, within and outside of the marketing organization. You will influence and work across a large internal network of campaign managers, subject matter experts, distributors, partners, and Esri leadership to align the team’s strategy for social media, reporting on key metrics and shifting strategic approaches based on data and insights. To accomplish those goals, you’ll lead and inspire a team of social media professionals to develop engaging content and social experiences to attract attention and spark the imagination of how location intelligence and Esri’s GIS technology can help solve big, bold challenges.

Responsibilities


Social Media Strategy and Management

  • Execute the integration of social media as a channel into all major company-wide initiatives such as brand campaigns, product launches, advocacy initiatives, and amplification of proprietary content
  • Own and scale a comprehensive strategy for Esri’s corporate social channels aligned with marketing goals
  • Lead the social media team to execute against social strategy
  • Develop, energize, inspire, educate, and provide opportunities for social media team members to grow in their skills
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of social media best practices and innovation; proactively propose new opportunities across marketing division
  • Manage social crisis communication as needed

Organic Social Media Campaign Management

  • Manage social media calendars for organic posts in collaboration with social media team members and across organization
  • Oversee the monitoring and reporting on social engagement, trends, and analytics; brief leadership on regular basis
  • Lead strategy for employee engagement and advocacy and oversee execution of employee advocacy program
  • Lead the execution of social influencer marketing campaigns

Content Creation

  • Oversee and contribute to the creation of engaging B2B content to engage target audiences and increase followers
  • Ideate and oversee the creation of visuals and videos that elevate Esri and GIS while protecting brand guidelines
  • Work closely with content lead and SEO team to identify opportunities for repurposing content on our different social channels

Requirements


  • 5+ years of B2B social media experience developing, planning, and executing on a social media strategy and producing social content
  • 3+ years in leadership/management role with direct reports in social media
  • Proven track record of planning, delivering, and reporting on a range of social media campaigns
  • Experience managing outside agencies and contractors
  • Strong skills for creative content production
  • Deep understanding of mainstream social platform capabilities and changing APIs
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics (Adobe Analytics preferred)
  • Experience with social media enterprise tools (Hootsuite preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s in communications, marketing, digital media, or related field (master's preferred)

Recommended Qualifications


  • Understanding of GIS and location intelligence
  • Understanding of the ArcGIS platform
