The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets, push the technology envelope and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1,000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.


  • Work with a team of dedicated product engineers, software engineers, and site reliability engineers to determine, design, build, and maintain the most desired capabilities and enhancements
  • Use JavaScript and HTML to develop front end applications that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models
  • Prototype, design, develop, and deliver complete software features and products that can scale, are fault tolerant, and handle concurrent workloads
  • Find, analyze, and fix bugs/performance problems whenever and wherever they occur
  • Solve and articulate complex problems through application design, product development, and user experiences. Location does matter, you will make it easier for people to visualize their data with location in mind
  • Develop software used by people who are not software developers. Ensure the exceptional software you create influences them to be exceptional professionals in their respective fields
  • Collaborate with other programmers and developers throughout the development process
  • Leverage the knowledge of your peers to better understand business trends, customer communities, and technology adoption patterns
  • Evolve your language skills in JavaScript and HTML by staying current with complementary programming languages, development methodologies, user interface design techniques, and database tools


  • 2+ years of professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
  • 2+ years of front end development experience with a fluency and passion for JavaScript and HTML
  • Proficiency with additional front end development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Node.JS, React, and more
  • An entrepreneurial awareness of how technology enables excellence within governments and organizations. You should be interested in why we are developing software, not just how we develop software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Understand the importance of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, RAD, RUP) and software design techniques (UML, entity relationship diagramming, use cases, data flow diagramming); know how they impact the quality of your design process, team collaboration, and work product
  • Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
  • Object oriented design skills
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or STEM related field, depending on position level

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.


A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $93,600 - $156,000.
