Be part of Esri’s Developer Experience team and help build and test the next generation of developer products, a suite of developer documentation, front-end applications, SDKs, and APIs used by thousands of developers worldwide. As a skilled software QA test engineer, you will use your dedication to quality and software engineering to advance Esri’s developer products. Your work will involve finding ways to break our code, investigating the cause of software problems, developing, and implementing new tests, and testing apps across multiple web, desktop, and mobile platforms. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for developer technology and a desire to advance the ArcGIS developer experience through high-quality and reliable documentation, developer guides, and code samples.

Responsibilities


  • Work with the QA lead, automation engineer, and development team to develop and implement test plans and test cases and execute manual tests
  • Learn to design, develop, and maintain automation processes/test systems and tools to assess product quality and release readiness
  • Identify test cases, test regressions, reproduce, debug, and isolate problems and verify code changes and bug fixes
  • Use GitHub issues and code reviews to proactively identify issues and work with the development team to resolve them quickly
  • Utilize the latest innovative test technologies to improve product test strategy
  • Work with the product developers to derive release testing requirements throughout the development cycle

Requirements


  • 2+ years in applied knowledge of testing principals including experience designing and executing test cases
  • Introductory knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Ability to clearly and accurately document test results, issues, bugs, and work alongside the development team to resolve them
  • Introductory knowledge of web-testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Chrome, Cypress, Jest, or other testing frameworks
  • Experience with QA processes, test design strategies, and writing test cases
  • Hands-on experience with different web browser platforms such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari, dev tools and mobile device emulation
  • A self-motivated team player with good communication skills and the ability to multitask
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complete problems
  • A passion for software product quality in testing and test automation
  • Bachelor’s in in computer science, computer engineering or related field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$72,800-$124,800 USD
