We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator with strong expertise in DataOps methodologies to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Esri’s databases, ensuring security, and designing data architectures to support our business needs. Responsibilities


  • Design and implement data architectures that support business goals and ensure data quality and integrity
  • Monitor database performance and availability, identify and resolve issues promptly, and ensure data backups are regularly scheduled and tested
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows using DataOps methodologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the consistency and accuracy of data across different systems
  • Maintain SQL Server, CosmoDB, Aurora, Postgres, MySQL and MongoDB databases in production high availability environments
  • Work with developers and other IT teams to design, test, and deploy new database applications
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database systems, including policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Manage backup and recovery procedures
  • Mentor and train junior DBAs on best practices for database administration and DataOps methodologies

Requirements


  • 5+ years of relevant experience and Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree
    • Experience in database administration as well as a senior or lead role required
  • Proven experience with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL as well as NoSQL databases such as Mongo, and Document DB on cloud (AWS, Azure)
  • Strong understanding of DataOps methodologies, including experience with automation, version control, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Services (Synapse, Log Analytics, Azure Data Factory)
  • Expertise in database security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database design
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues quickly and effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

 

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $81,640.00 - $137,800.00.
