Sr. GIS Consultant - Federal Earth Sciences

Overview

Serve as a leader in Professional Services for the Federal Earth Science practice, partnering closely with Sales and Marketing as part of an integrated Esri team. Work with us to provide strategic vision and leadership to enable organizations to leverage their investment in location intelligence, while helping to develop new business and establish best practices for implementing Esri enterprise technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought-leadership, including industry insight, technology vision and implementation patterns in partnership with Sales lead
• Sense of community among our Federal Earth Science customers, distributors and partners. Influence key business processes that can be optimized by leveraging our technology
• Understand and grow the business opportunity pipeline. Help develop business into new markets
• Support identification/qualification and assignment of opportunities to the best team for the dynamics and overall success of the opportunity
• Lead innovative proposals for large and strategic projects
• Maintain strong team relationships with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Education Services and all other parts of Esri required to execute effectively
• Represent Professional Services in corporate sector or industry meetings and other corporate initiatives
• Support the development of others through our network or organizational teams and professional communities

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience supporting the design, implementation, and administration of enterprise geospatial technology (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and/or ArcGIS Platform)
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to technical peers, project managers, and customers
• Demonstrated ability to translate a customer’s business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical solutions.
• Demonstrated experience winning new work in collaboration with sales and business development teams. Including, proposal management experience with preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of work, staffing, and pricing.
• Professional experience leveraging Esri’s software capabilities. Including, mapping, field operations, spatial analysis & data science, 3D visualization & analytics, data management, and developer API’s
• Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to learn – you must thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
• Bachelor’s in geography, computer science, GIS, information systems, city and regional planning, urban design, environmental science, geology, earth science, climate science or a STEM related field

Recommended Qualifications

• Master’s in geography, computer science, GIS, information systems, earth science, statistics, environmental science, climate science, or a STEM related field
• Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture
• Experience with ArcGIS, Big Data Toolkit, GeoAI, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analytics, or similar geospatial technology
• Understanding of IT integration concepts such as databases, web services, webhooks, mobile device configurations, web browsers, IT system architecture concepts
