Use your industry knowledge and GIS technical experience in the electric and gas utilities sector to support our users by helping define geospatial-centric solutions and implementation of those solutions. This is a challenging opportunity for an accomplished GIS professional with proven experience to help utility organizations with realizing their geospatial objectives to address complex business problems.


  • Help clients translate real-world needs into practical, state-of-the-art, GIS technology-driven solutions through the implementation of Esri’s enterprise GIS technology
  • Work with clients to prepare multi-year GIS implementation and migration strategies
  • Collect and organize client requirements, objectives, and business workflows to translate into meaningful and actionable strategies and plans
  • Analyze and interpret business and technical problems and distill them into manageable and practical solutions or tasks
  • Present concise and clear findings and suggestions to clients
  • Provide GIS technical guidance and advice
  • Lead project teams during requirements, analysis, design, build, and rollout
  • Delegate project tasks to the project team
  • Create and manage the scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables through planning, tracking, quality assurance, change control, and risk management
  • Manage projects ranging from small focused technical transfer engagements to large enterprise implementations of mission-critical systems
  • Track project performance and report on status
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Manage client relationships and expectations
  • Work with Esri’s marketing and sales teams to develop new business


  • 7+ years of significant, proven experience applying GIS technology within electric and gas utilities sector
  • Domain expertise throughout the electric and gas utilities market including electric and/or gas distribution and transmission
  • Experience with Esri products to solve complex business problems
  • Familiarity with RDBMS and geodatabase design techniques and concepts
  • Knowledgeable of utility workflows and how they are applied through GIS; such as: facility management (AM/FM), right-of-way corridor planning, engineering, design, construction, inspection, network analysis, integration with other systems, and market analysis
  • Experience in the integration of ArcGIS with common utility enterprise systems, such as: work management, network analysis, Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), customer information, and document management systems
  • Demonstrated professional experience applying electric and gas utilities GIS data management frameworks
  • Ability to lead and manage consulting and software development teams
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Ability to develop project designs, work plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Experience with desktop, client/server, and Internet applications, and architectures
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s degree information systems, GIS, computer science, or relvent field
