Responsibilities


  • Help clients translate real-world needs into practical, state-of-the-art, GIS technology-driven solutions through the implementation of Esri’s enterprise GIS technology
  • Work with clients to prepare multi-year GIS implementation and migration strategies
  • Collect and organize client requirements, objectives, and business workflows to translate into meaningful and actionable strategies and plans
  • Analyze and interpret business and technical problems and distill them into manageable and practical solutions or tasks
  • Present concise and clear findings and suggestions to clients
  • Provide GIS technical guidance and advice
  • Lead project teams during requirements, analysis, design, build, and rollout
  • Delegate project tasks to the project team
  • Create and manage the scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables through planning, tracking, quality assurance, change control, and risk management
  • Manage projects ranging from small focused technical transfer engagements to large enterprise implementations of mission-critical systems
  • Track project performance and report on status
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Manage client relationships and expectations
  • Work with Esri’s marketing and sales teams to develop new business

Requirements


  • 7+ years of significant, proven experience applying GIS technology
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
  • Experience developing project approaches, designs, work plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Solid understanding of the ArcGIS system including mobile, desktop, web and developer workflows and solutions
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to learn—you must thrive in a dynamic cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to consult and engage with executive level leadership
  • Ability to engage, collaborate, and facilitate with State and Local Government customers and external teams and stakeholders
  • Proposal writing experience, including preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of services, staffing, and pricing
  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, information systems, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in geography, GIS, information systems, or a related field
  • Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analytics, or similar geospatial technology
  • Experience developing, successfully bidding and executing professional services or consulting projects with geospatial software or solutions.
  • Understanding of IT integration concepts such as databases, web services, webhooks, mobile device configurations, web browsers, IT system architecture concepts
