Responsibilities


You’ll work on our platform team alongside product engineers, software engineers, and designers to strategize, implement, and maintain our documentation and user education for the ArcGIS Hub application and its associated technologies. As a primary advocate for documentation and user education content, your work will guide our users to maximize their experience with ArcGIS Hub.
  • Maintain and extend our Web Help documentation process, serving as primary author and editor of help topics
  • Collaborate with other team members to strategize, create, and maintain user education content (blog posts, tutorials, etc.)
  • Partner with software engineers to ensure our developer documentation (API, component library, etc.) is updated and maintained
  • Collaborate with development teams to incorporate and maintain documentation and user education content into the application
  • Analyze usage of our documentation and user education content to optimize communication channel utilization and provided resources

Requirements


  • 3+ years writing product and/or developer documentation in a software or technology environment
  • A clear and friendly writing style with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience working within an agile software development life cycle
  • Able to understand new technology concepts quickly and translate them into documentation and/or user education in a timely manner
  • Portfolio of existing written work that includes recent examples demonstrating ability to generate documentation or user education to a diverse group of user segments

Recommended Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s in GIS, engineering, or relevant writing disciplines
  • Familiarity with GIS technology, particularly the ArcGIS platform
  • Experience collaborating with product ownership to plan and schedule documentation or user education updates
