As a test automation engineer, you will work with our cross-functional global team of product engineers, software engineers, designers, product managers, and release engineers. You will be actively involved with building automation and testing frameworks to deliver a high-quality ArcGIS Enterprise product.

Our team builds cutting-edge, highly-scalable, and reliable distributed software for on-premises and the cloud to make maps, geographic information, and analyses available on any device, anywhere, at any time. Our software development test engineers provide a strong technical voice in the product development process and use the best tools available to test quality, reliability, and performance scalability.

  • Collaborate with developers and product engineers on the team to design and develop integration and unit tests
  • Develop API and/or UI tests in object-oriented language (Java, Python, Groovy, etc.)
  • Design and develop continuous integration testing pipelines using Jenkins
  • Deploy and schedule the developed tests to run daily and share results with the respective stakeholders effectively
  • Re-engineer existing test suites as needed
  • Engineer high-level graphical dashboards for communicating test results


  • 2+ years of experience testing frameworks such as JUnit/PyUnit/TestNG
  • 2+ years of experience with RESTful and SOAP web services
  • 2+ years of experience with automated API and/or UI testing tools
  • 1+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Passionate about writing tests and breaking software
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's in computer science or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven development skills in Java, Python, Groovy or any other object-oriented languages
  • Proven development skills in tools like Selenium (WebDriver), TestComplete, ReadyAPI, SoapUI, or any other test automation tools
  • Demonstrated experience in automating software tests
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and other presentation tier frameworks to build status dashboards
  • Familiarity with system and web server administration
