Bring your user experience (UX) analytical mind to help create, inspire, and influence user-centered design at Esri and beyond.

Sitting at the nexus of research, web analytics, and information architecture, you will help define the vision for our approach to data-driven design. Using your toolbox of varied methodologies, you'll extract data from multiple sources and transform it into actionable insights to solve complex problems. With a passion for visualizing information, you'll craft shareable stories to influence the foundational strategy across our web experiences.


  • Draw up a living road map in which all paths lead to web optimization
  • Apply diverse design theories and approaches to continually improve Esri's end-to-end customer and user journeys
  • Use an evidence-driven approach to identify areas of improvement based on current visitor behavior, performance metrics, and qualitative and quantitative visitor data
  • Create dashboards to track and monitor web analytics and key metrics and analyze flows
  • Work with the conversion rate optimization team to identify opportunities for A/B and multivariate tests to drive increased engagement and conversion across forms, components, and pages
  • Conduct qualitative and mixed-method UX research to explore or test concepts, prototypes, and live sites and develop and implement recommended evidence-driven solutions
  • From an Excel spreadsheet to a big data viz, introduce new ways to communicate your tracking and analysis information in a regular cadence across horizontal teams and to stakeholders
  • Work in partnership with your UX and UI design teammates, business stakeholders, project managers, content writers, and developers. Distill complex problems into refined solutions through organizing content, structure, and information architecture into user flows, wireframes, and interaction design
  • Act as a UX evangelist, ensuring that others understand the value of UX activities
  • Stay up to speed on the latest mobile, web, and responsive design patterns and technologies


  • 2+ years of experience specializing in user experience, research, and interaction design preferably with an analytical focus in a business-to-business technology company
  • In-depth knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Clicktale, Crazy Egg, Optimizely) and their strengths and weaknesses
  • Quantitative research skills and data science approaches and tools (Python, SQL, modeling, statistics, data visualization)
  • In-depth knowledge of qualitative and mixed-method UX research methodologies
  • Experience with design software, such as Sketch, InVision, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex ideas understandable
  • A clear passion for experimentation and crafting tactics needed to improve user experience and drive increased performance
  • Bachelor's in human-computer interaction, user experience, interaction design, applied social science, or a related field such as digital marketing, business, MBA

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including AEM Sites
  • Knowledge of GIS and designing map-based applications is a really big plus
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards, I10n, i18n, and translation
  • Experience in scrum and agile development environments
