UX designers are proficient in analyzing complex business problems, delivering sketches, wireframes, polished dev-ready user interface designs and prototypes. They are sometimes combined with more specialized design roles as needed, especially for work on Esri products. Using research methods, the UX Designer also plays a critical role in confirming the viability of designs with users at every fidelity level, from concept and story to interaction design and implementation.

Responsibilities


  • Design, architect, and develop innovative, engaging, and visually striking user interfaces for commercial software and enterprise systems
  • Solve complex business problems and communicate through wireframes and high-fidelity mockups
  • Demonstrates good judgement in design thinking, research, and owns user stories with diverse scope
  • Serve as a close resource and mentor to the design team and our division

Requirements


  • 3+ years of relevant experience specializing in visual design for the web
  • In-depth knowledge of qualitative and mixed-method UX research methodologies
  • Outstanding skills with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Balsamiq
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex ideas understandable
  • Organized, creative, and able to think beyond what is being asked for
  • Bachelor’s in graphic design, human factors, computer science, or related field (master's preferred)

Recommended Qualifications


  • Ability to interface with customers, gather requirements, and apply design best practices
  • Keen eye for graphical design and knowledge of best practices for user-centered design
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations
  • Be personally motivated, a progressive thinker, and an all-around team player
  • Knowledge of geographic information system (GIS) technology, mapping, and analysis applications
