Overview


Are you enthusiastic about interaction design and urbanism? We are looking for a talented UX designer to help us develop ArcGIS Urban, a popular web application for urban design and planning. ArcGIS Urban empowers urban planners all around the world to make their cities more livable and sustainable. Join our team and use your design skills to help build the leading 3D urban design and planning system.

Responsibilities


  • Synthesize requirements into exciting and comprehensive user stories
  • Envision novel concepts, workflows, interaction models, and task flows to bring engagement and ease of use to the ArcGIS Urban user experience
  • Design solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high-level conceptual models to detailed wireframes, mock-ups, and low-fi prototypes
  • Work with the team to collaboratively achieve high-quality designs by iterating on and testing out design alternatives
  • Document and present designs for different stakeholders, including software development, quality assurance, and product management

Requirements


  • Understanding of 3D space to conceptualize and communicate design ideas
  • Reliable intuition and steady passion for detailed, innovative, and empathic design
  • Experience with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD)
  • Adaptable communication skills and ability to distill complex ideas to their essence
  • Bachelor's in UX design, interaction design, or similar

A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work will be requested upon interview selection.

Recommended Qualifications


  • A genuine interest in urban planning and architecture, etc.
  • HTML and CSS knowledge; fluency in the latest responsive design techniques
  • Experience working closely with developers translating designs into production code
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies (Scrum, etc.)
  • Will support relocation to the Zurich, Switzerland area
