Call for Papers

DevSummit is not only about Esri developers sharing new technology and ideas with you. To us, the word "summit" implies that we are all bringing useful, inspirational ideas together. When you present at the DevSummit, your success story will garner you recognition as a GIS thought leader. It's the best way to empower your peers and justify your attendance.

Submission deadline

Please submit your paper by January 17, 2019. Accepted papers will be notified during the week of January 28, 2019.

When you submit your abstract, please include the following information:

  • Author/Presenter name(s)
  • Presentation title (10 words or fewer)
  • Your organization's name
  • Complete address, phone, and e-mail information
  • Brief presenter biography (200 characters or fewer)
  • Abstract (500 characters or fewer that accurately describes the content of your talk)

To give you an idea of what we are looking for, here are just a few examples of selected presentations that were given at previous DevSummits:

  • Mapping with Amazon Alexa
  • ArcGIS and Automatic Object Recognition
  • Building Android Location Awareness with ArcGIS GeoEvent Server
  • Angular2 and ArcGIS API for JavaScript: a World of Endless Possibilities
  • Supercharge Your App with AMP and AWS CloudFront
  • Building Automated Tests for Python Toolbox Tools
  • Pretty Charts: Data Viz Options for GIS Developers
  • Bridging the Gap: a Holistic Approach to Automation and Web DevOps

Preparing Your Talk

Your presentation can be in any format: Powerpoint, Prezi, Reveal, Keynote, video, or whatever presentation tool you are most comfortable with. You will be running this presentation on your own machine, as long as it supports either HDMI, VGA, or Mini-Display. You have 20 minutes to give your talk, so practice makes perfect. A good suggestion is to practice your content down to 15 minutes, leaving 5 minutes for questions from the audience.
