Mr. David D. Briggs currently serves as the Deputy Associate Director for Operations for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), executing Analysis and Source missions as well as the NGA Operations Center, Expeditionary Operations, NGA Defense, GEOINT Mission Management, and GEOINT Assurance.
Dave previously served from 2018-2020 as the Director of Analytic Operations with responsibilities that included directing operations in NGA’s Regional and Functional Analytic Offices as well as NGA Support Teams at the Combatant Commands, Service Intelligence Centers, and the national agencies. He had previously served as the Director of Targeting and Transnational Issues 2016-2018, Director of Customer Engagement 2015-2016 and as the Deputy Director, Office of the Middle East and Southwest Asia from 2012 through 2015. Dave entered his civilian service with NGA as the Director of the Expeditionary Operations Support Office in September of 2010.
Dave joined NGA as a US Army Colonel in the summer of 2007, serving as the Chief of the NGA Support Team in Seoul, Republic of Korea. In 2009, he was selected by the Director of NGA to serve as the Commander of the NGA Task Force in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). For the majority of 2011, Mr. Briggs served as the Country Lead for NGA-Iraq (Operation New Dawn) leading the agency drawdown efforts from Baghdad and throughout the Middle East.
