Plenary: Sustainability at Scale
Jack Dangermond will open the Esri Imagery Summit with his vision of a Geographic Approach that utilizes remote sensing for developing global knowledge on sustainable development. He’ll share the incredible work of the Esri remote sensing community, inspiring everyone to apply their GIS in new and innovative ways. Lucas Joppa from Microsoft will build on Jack’s vision of using remote sensing for sustainability by presenting Microsoft’s Planetary Computer for a Sustainable Future. This capability combines a multi-petabyte catalog of global environmental data, to include imagery, with intuitive APIs and a flexible scientific environment that allows users to answer global questions regarding sustainability. Esri’s Director of Global Business Development, Richard Cooke, will cap off this session with an overview of exciting new remote sensing capabilities within ArcGIS that provide a modern approach for the use of imagery for all types of geospatial applications.
