Accessibility for All Attendees

Esri is dedicated to providing a welcoming, respectful, safe, and accessible environment for all conference attendees. Our conference fosters an environment where collaboration can thrive, innovation is abundant and encouraged, and all attendees are provided the opportunity to learn and grow.

We ask that conference attendees are mindful of the Esri Code of Conduct for Conferences and Community Spaces, to help create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone free of harassment, aggression and intimidation.  Please be respectful and report any inappropriate behavior to our staff.

Hearing Impaired

We welcome our hearing-impaired guests to the conference. An American Sign Language interpreter is available (in a reserved section) during the Plenary and Keynote sessions. If you would like to use the services of our ASL interpreter, please email or call 909-793-2853 extension 1-5625.

Additionally, Infrared Audio Assistive Listening Systems are permanently installed in the meeting rooms and ballroom for the professional development workshops. If you would like a device, please visit the Information Desk on the L Street Bridge outside of Exhibit Hall D.

Service Animals

Trained service animals are permitted in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center with proper supervision and are welcome at all Esri conference activities in the convention center. If you have any special requirements, please contact any Esri staff for assistance.

Lactation Room

Esri offers a dedicated lactation room to support the needs of our attendees. The room offers a quiet and private environment that is equipped with electrical outlets, a refrigerator, and comfortable seating. The room is located on Level 2 (room 210) of the convention center. For security, the room is PIN-code protected; the code is available from Registration, as well as the Information Desk.

Children at the Conference

For safety and security, all registered attendees must be at least 18 years of age. Some exceptions may apply, and we welcome you to reach out and discuss your individual needs. For example, K-12 students may be able to attend as part of their school curriculum with the required parent/guardian permission. Please contact confregis@esri.com with any questions you may have regarding children attending the Esri Federal GIS Conference.

As the Esri Federal GIS Conference is primarily a commuter conference for attendees, we do not offer special conference programs for children such as Family Night, GIS Kids Camp, or on-site day care.  These activities are available at the summer annual conference in San Diego if you would like to bring your children to this event. We continuously update our conference support to meet the ever-changing needs of our attendees, so please contact our staff at the Registration or Information Desk if you have suggestions for future activities.

Prayer/Quiet Room

As a global company with a diverse workforce. Esri embraces and respects the religious affiliations of our community.  Attendees can find a prayer/quiet space to reflect, meditate, and practice their faith at the conference.  The room is located on the ground level in room 103 B.

ADA Transportation

For information on the ADA accessibility of the physical spaces at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, please visit the center’s accessibility page. If you have any additional special needs while at the conference, please email or call 909-793-2853 extension 1-5625.

Esri provides ADA bus transportation between the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History for the Wednesday evening Networking Reception. You may board ADA busses at the L Street entrance of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

First Aid

Should you require first aid while attending the conference, there is a first aid desk in the East corner of Exhibit Hall D. This desk is staffed to assist you during conference hours.

For life threatening emergencies, please dial the convention center emergency hotline number (202) 249-3333.  Dialing this number is the fastest way to receive emergency help within the convention center.
