Michael E. Young is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Esri products. Leading Esri's software security and privacy team, he works collaboratively with business and technical leaders, both within and outside the company, to continuously advance security and privacy of geospatial solutions.
Young was recognized as a Computerworld 2017 Premier 100 Technology Leader based on leading key security advancements and FedRAMP compliance efforts at Esri. An elected Esri fellow, Young holds an MBA with information technology concentration from the University of Redlands as well as an engineering undergraduate degree, and he has over 20 years of experience in information security. His industry certifications include those of Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT).
Though Young now focuses on securing information system clouds, his career started with designing and securing prototype vehicle alternative fuel "clouds", ranging from fuel cells to natural gas.
