Jeff Baranyi is the Operations Manager for the Esri Public Safety Assistance Program (EPSAP) which consists of the Disaster Response Program (DRP) and the Special Events Management Program (SEMP). He is responsible for ensuring the program is operating effectively to support organizations and agencies impacted by complex emergencies and large-scale special events. He has supported Esri disaster response technical operations for many disasters over the years including Hurricane Matthew, 2016 Louisiana flooding, 2016 Texas flooding, European Refugee Crisis, 2013 Colorado flooding, 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami, Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and many others. Mr. Baranyi is also the Emergency Management and Fire Technical Lead on the Patterns & Practices Industry Patterns team at Esri. He is responsible for working closely with Esri’s Public Safety team to define and advocate a set of industry focused solution patterns that promote the vision and value of the ArcGIS platform. He has been with Esri since 2000 and started as a consultant in the Professional Services Group. Mr. Baranyi holds a Masters of Engineering in Applied Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan.
