Deputy Director of NOAA’s National Weather Service
Mary C. Erickson has been the Deputy Director of the National Weather Service since January 2017. She leads the agency’s major change initiatives—ensuring service delivery to key stakeholders, becoming an employer of choice for all, championing research to operations, coastal and terrestrial water programs, and building relationships with America’s Weather Enterprise. She has served in various roles across NOAA for over 35 years, including 12 years at NOAA’s Ocean Service. Ms. Erickson holds a B.S. degree in Meteorology and an M.S. degree in Operations Research and Statistics.
