Dr. Lain Graham is a Geospatial Center Solution Engineer on the National Government Sciences team at Esri. Lain is a Social Scientist, Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA), certified FAA part 107 UAV pilot, and Smithsonian Institute Research Associate. Lain has used GIS, imagery, and remote sensing techniques in various ways throughout her career to enhance her social science and environmental research. In her role as a Solution Engineer at Esri, she assists federal agencies in the adoption and utilization of GIS to create meaningful solutions to better address real-world-problems. She primarily supports NASA, FAA, Federally Recognized Tribes, USDA ARS, EPA, and the U.S. Census Bureau. Dr. Graham additionally engages in academic research, public scholarship, and outreach in her appointed role as a Research Associate at the Smithsonian Institute National Museum of Natural History, in this capacity, she works with educators, archaeologists, and interdisciplinary collaborators on archaeological research projects in North America.
