Getting Started with Arc Hydro: Watershed and Floodplain Delineation

This one-day training will introduce Arc Hydro principles, data model, and specific data processing workflows for hydro landscape characterization. Focus will be on watershed and stream characterization that will enable use of Arc Hydro tools for fast watershed and floodplain delineation. Participants will start from digital elevation model and develop necessary watershed and floodplain data products that can be used in design and operational situations. Tie into National Water Model forecasting infrastructure will be demonstrated and how it can be used in operational situations. Different components of ArcGIS Platform will be used to tie field, server, desktop, and web applications into an integrated water modeling system.
Prerequisites: Completion of ArcGIS 2: Essential Workflows or equivalent knowledge. Course assumes familiarity with water utility terminology.
