Dr. Luis Carrasco has been with Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) Water since 2017. He's a senior GIS analyst with the IT GIS section and is involved in day-to-day planning, coordination, and product development aspects of GIS applications and support of IT infrastructure as well as the integration of GIS to enterprise business initiatives. As part of a major WSSC Water IT program, Carrasco led the development phase of automated control systems for customer and asset management services. Carrasco has worked in analysis and project management roles for different North Carolina government agencies and in the private sector. Carrasco has academic and professional experience in the application of GIS to information technology, health, conservation, and environmental assessment. In recent years, Carrasco's work has involved leading initiatives to provide GIS data infrastructure for different programs, such as broadband networks and First Responders. Carrasco has a doctorate degree from North Carolina State University.
