CANCER CENTER FACILITIES:
Cancer centers are outpatient facilities that specialize in oncology and provide services or procedures to patients not requiring an overnight stay. Currently, more than 5,000 Cancer Centers provide services in the United States.
Cancer treatment has a significant impact of the U.S. economy, as according to a report from the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/content/dam/cancer-org/research/cancer-facts-and-statistics/annual-cancer-facts-and-figures/2022/2022-cancer-facts-and-figures.pdf), medical costs related to cancer amounted to $186 billion in 2015 and are expected to rise to $246 billion by 2030.
The same report also indicates that people over the age of 55 account for 80% of cancer diagnoses, while people over the age of 65 account for 57% of diagnoses in the United States. Therefore, the need for Cancer Centers will likely grow in the coming years as medical costs for cancer continue to increase, as does the population of the elderly Americans.
Although MCH takes pride in the completeness and accuracy of the data offered, the data should not be considered a definitive statement on the presence or absence of an organization within a community.

“MCH Strategic Data works with the CDC Foundation and Esri to relaunch its COVID-19 map”
PRESS RELEASE article: (5/13/21)
When the COVID-19 pandemic began to impact schools in the United States, MCH partnered with Esri, the global market leader in geographic information systems, to provide a free data resource for anyone interested in the rapid changes and impact of COVID-19 on school reopening plans and operations at the school district level. This resource, first launched in August 2020, quickly became a valuable tool utilized by hundreds of stakeholders nationwide, including researchers at universities such as Johns Hopkins, Harvard, and MIT; governmental agencies such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and The U.S. Department of Education; and was featured nationally in publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post and Forbes.
Now MCH is working with Bay Park Data Solutions (an Esri Silver Business partner) to provide data.
